Such an easy Home Decor project that can be used just about any time of the year. Add & change per season or just leave it simple & frug-elegant.
We found this Boxwood Wreath at our local Tuesday Morning and we knew it would be a great staple for a front door. Plus, we could decorate so many ways. (at the end of this post, we have a few online options for boxwood wreaths)
We already had had a 3 pack of the chalkboard signs from Home Goods, they were only $4.99. For an online shopping comparison, we found several wonderful options on Amazon & Ebay, They are great for so many of uses- on a beverage server, herb garden, etc. We pulled out a burlap ribbon, same ribbon from our spring decor pillow! Together they look fabulous for a simple & elegant door wreath in minutes!
Here are the easy step by step instructions: Just hold the the ribbon looped up to your project to decide the size bow you would like. Then staple the center. I then cut one length folded it in the center so both sides were equal hanging down, hold in place on the back side of your looped bow, staple that again in the center to have the sides of the ribbon hang down. Cut a final small piece long enough to wrap around the the center of the bow and staple in the back of the small loop holding it together. I used a piece of wire through the back of the bow to attach it to the wreath.
Fold the tail ends of the ribbon in half and cut for a nice edge V shape.
I just made a small dab of hot glue on the ribbon tails about two thirds the way down just to just it some lift and shape, and pressed it to the wreath.
Any message can be added on your chalk board, your family name or initials. You can glue on any embellishment you may want, a birds nest, small rabbit, any seasonal small decor item. Or paint a wooden initial from the craft store and attach. You do not need a lot of time or skill to create a personalized wreath for your home!
A quick update- readers have asked where they can find some boxwood wreaths online so we have a few possibilities you might like to check out & compare: Amazon, Ebay, Joann & Target.
