Whoahoo, happy dance time because Carol is gonna to be a grandma soon!!
We are so excited.. It’s baby shower time & we are getting our frugelegant party decor ready! The theme is Children’s Story Books so what better way to welcome guests than with a Story Book Baby Shower Wreath that uses the actual pages from old children’s books.
Items needed: a few children’s books that we bought from our local thrift store & one wire wreath form. Also needed: scissor, glue gun, staples & some assorted paper.
First separate pages from the children’s books. Each page gets rolled up and stapled at the bottom to secure the shape. The shape looks like a cone.
Using a glue gun we attach the rolled up pages around the wire wreath form. Using different length papers, makes a nice top layer to help give a full look.
We use the good ole home printer to print the perfect story book welcome message & image we found online. Some pretty colored paper for the background. Cut both into circles, making the background circle larger than the Be Our Guest circle. Attach to each other & the wreath using glue dots. How super easy!
Our baby shower story book wreath is colorful & fun and perfect to welcome all our guests! You do not have to be crafty to handle this DIY. And you sure don’t have to spend a lot to make your party decor beautiful!

Hello! I’m trying to make this and have everything I need. However, my issue is that I can’t get the hot glue to stick to my paper therefore it’s peeling off the wire rack. I wondered if the pages from the book are too glossy, but it looks like you’re pages are the same. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! Any suggestions??
Hi Emily, a few things can be happening. There are different types of glue for glue guns. For example some can be hotter or cooler than others for different uses, like jewelry or stone or glass etc. If you have the glue package check that out. We did not have an issue with peeling and the wreath lasted well past the party. Hope this info helps! Let us know…
Hi! My mom thinks my glue may be old therefore not wanting to hold. I’ve bought new glue that’s made for hot temperatures but have also switched over to a foam poster board to help it stick. So far that’s working. 😊
