If you are Looking for a super fun game, the whole family can play together, we have a winner for you! Have you heard of the “Plastic Wrap Ball Game” (aka Saran Wrap Ball Game)? We came across some funny viral videos online and knew we had to give it a try. It was an instant hit. Perfect for Birthday parties, Christmas, Hanukkah and any other holidays and family gatherings. It might even become a tradition added to your holiday festivities like its become for ours.
Items Needed: A pair of dice, a large box of plastic wrap and an assortment of small size prizes to fill the plastic ball. Prizes can vary per the ages playing. For one recent Plastic Wrap Ball Game, we played after Thanksgiving Dinner, our Ball was filled with mini / fun size candy, scratch-off lottery tickets (holy cow, my nephew won $500!!), one dollar bills, gift cards and a few small toys.
It’s so easy to make. The plastic wrap ball is put together with layers of wrap that you fill with goodies that your family and their age ranges would like. Layer as you go with different sizes of wrap, some short, some longer… watch everyone’s faces when they are unrolling a longer one anxious to see what mysteriously drops out, it’s hysterical. As you build your layers, take into consideration the shape so a round ball shape is formed.
How to play: Everyone rolls dice to determine who goes first. Highest roll wins to start trying to remove the first layers (find the edges to peel, no ripping allowed), and win any prizes that fall out as the layer is peeled away. At the same time, going in clockwise order, the next player is quickly rolling the dice trying to get a “double”. Any double (when both dice have the same #) makes the ball and the dice move to the next players. This means, the player who rolled the dice will get the ball and the next player starts spinning. And so on and so on. Gotta go fast cause the a player can spin a double on the first spin or take lots, it’s all very rushed, silly and fun.
Make the ball big so there will be lots for all. At the end of the game, our family trades their prizes. That way, everyone gets a chance to get the prizes they like best. Some examples of our favorites: Assorted gift cards, rolled up dollar bills and coins, bite size candy, scratch off lottery tickets. For the younger kiddos, small toys, mini size puzzles and lots of treats. The options are endless.
