You know we love to share with you “easy to make” home decor projects. This time we would like to share WHERE you can go to make beautiful personalized wood signs. Something that many of us don’t do ourselves because it involves tools, supplies and possibly some skills mixed with fears of all of those things. No worries, we found a place that has it all ready. Everything is there and all you have to do is come with a smile and enjoy making your project. The Board and Brush Creative Studio is new in town and we are in love with it!
If you never heard of B|b like us? It’s all about making personalized wood decor and sign art. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to work with tools, sand, paint and so on, because the B|b staff are there to teach and assist you. Just be ready for a whole lot of fun. Join a class on your own, go with a friend or book a group for a private party. Birthday parties, showers, business gatherings or just a night (or day) out to have a good time.
Kristin and Brendan Clarke recently opened the Board and Brush in Walnut Creek. Together they bring their passions for wood working into their creative studio. They have regular classes that adults can sign up for individually, a couple of friends or with a larger group. But sorry, no kiddos. You must be 21+ to participate. If you aren’t near this location, there are many new locations opening up nationwide.
When we first arrived, all the tables were set up with supplies, each person’s wood pieces and stencils (design was chosen in advance when we registered for the class). Throughout the class, Kristin and Brendan explain and demonstrate each step. Starting with a little sanding, then some hammering. And of course staining and painting. You won’t believe how easy it all comes together.
Time to get started with some light sanding…
A little lesson on stain and then it’s our turn…
The wood pieces that get screwed onto the back will hold the boards together …
We are making real progress! (Maybe Randi should learn how to take selfies without making such weird faces. She should take lessons from Carol who always smiles so beautifully!)
A big Thank You to our friend Marcie for hosting this B/b party! We had so much fun and have a beautiful sign to enjoy always. We have got to go back again (and again) because there are so many signs to choose from, we just have to make a few more.
Have you ever been to a Board and Brush Creative Studio? Which sign did you make? We would love to know!
