This no sew table runner is fast & easy to make. Plus you get that high end look for so much less!
Our local craft store carries a line of fabrics by Textiles For Home (**see below for another fabric option). This fabric comes 16″ width & the long ends are finished. Just measure & cut the length needed. We will show you how to finish the cut ends without sewing! Please note that we added some links to the products so you can see what we are using & compare. We would make a very small profit if you purchased any of these items through the links but it does not effect your prices at all.
- Lay out your material & use *Pinking Shears to cut one of the ends to get a cleaned up edge. Repeat on the opposite end.
- Iron material (press that steam button too) & create a flap on the end about 1-1/2” wide. Make sure the flap folds to the underside of your table runner.
- Place a strip cut to size of “Fusible Bonding Web” along the inside flap, close & iron thoroughly, till seam stays in place. That bonding web will work like glue to keep the seam closed when its fully heated by the iron. This will create your finished no sew edge. Repeat on the other end of soon to be table runner.
All Done!
**We haven’t been able to find this brand or fabric in other retail stores. After researching it a bit we learned there is another name & great selection of “toweling fabric” on Amazon.
Compared similar table runners & was amazed at the prices. Some of our favorite “high end” stores had runners that were $40-$75! To make 2 table runners cost us $25.00 -that’s $12.50 each!
*Pinking Shears are a type of shear, generally used to finish edges of fabric. They create a zigzag edge, as opposed to a straight line. Pinked edges are less likely to ravel in a finished garment.

I love this and so easy. I will look on Amazon for that type of fabric. And the mason jar idea is so cute. I love anything mason jar! Thanks.

Great idea… as someone that doesn’t even own a sewing machine, this is perfect because I was just starting to look for a table runner we could use outside for bbqs.
RandiG says
Totally understand- and if you check out this kind of material, it comes in a really beautiful Buffalo Check pattern that comes in red or blue- perfect for bbq. They also have a red bandana pattern that is super fun too. Send us a picture when you make your table runner 😉

Great idea! I love to gift table runners (of course I would sew them instead of your no-sew method.) Thanks for the idea for my next project.
