Fast & easy are the kind of recipes we love. We call them “homemade fast food”. Usually, a fast recipe is only 2-3 ingredients but don’t be turned off by the ingredients list being more, because this recipe for Easy Lettuce Wraps is full of flavor & fabulous.
Ingredients Needed:
- 1 pound ground chicken or turkey
- Lee Kum Kee Panda Lettuce Wrap Sauce 8 oz.
- 2 tsp oil (we are using Canola)
- 1 bunch scallions chopped
- 1 fresno or red jalapeños, seeded & sliced thin
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/3 cup dry roasted peanuts, chopped
- fresh cilantro leaves
- iceberg or bibb lettuce leaves to wrap
- In a large skillet heat oil & add the ground meat, stirring with wooden spoon (to break up the meat) and cook until browned.
- Add the scallions, chiles & garlic.
- Stir fry about 2 minutes & then add 3/4 of the pouch of sauce & cook for 1 more minute.
- Transfer to serving dish, drizzle with sesame oil & top with peanuts & cilantro.
- Serve with remaining sauce from pouch.
This recipe is so flexible, adjust any & all ingredients the way you like. Make it more or less spicy? Use a different ground meat? or fish? This recipe can be made in so many ways. But don’t let that overwhelm you either, try our recipe for a simple & flavorful “home made fast food” meal.
A perfect pairing, aka side dish to go with our lettuce wraps is Trader Joe’s Vegetable Fried Rice. Found in their freezer section, its super easy to make. We add a little extra scrambled egg & frozen shelled edamame too. YUM!
We love good food! Especially fast food that is healthier than going through the drive through. We are just too busy & want to feed our families something better. Check out more FrugElegant Style Homemade Fast Food Recipes. And don’t forget our Fast Food Dessert Recipes too.
