We set out to create a personal feel at each of the tables. Trying to keep on a Frug-Elegant budget, we shopped for specific items that would bring all these amazing touches together: Vintage books, vintage tea cups with a pink & gold theme on each, Vintage Suitcases.. are a few to mention. These are some of the following key decor items:
- A vintage suitcase with a burlap banner. Each letter embroidered to spell LOVE NOTES. Instead of a guest book, there were postcards for guests to leave the bride & groom a message or “love note”.
- A suitcase style basket held a dozen pashmina shawls for any of the guests for the cool evening, they were pressed & rolled & ready if needed.
- Large gold spray painted frame to hold the table seating information. This frame has been used at several events & throughout our seasonal decor. You can see it holding our family Christmas Cards in our Christmas Home Office, The Bridal Shower & so much more. This frame is a vintage store find that I stapled chicken wire to the back & then spray painted gold. The cards were printed & tied to it for the seating chart. Another option then tying the cards to the chicken wire, is to use mini gold sparkle laundry clips. They are available at many craft & retail stores & can also be handmade.
- No photo booth needed when everyone uses cellphones so we created a table to hold some fun photo accessories. A frame held computer printed, basic instructions for the guests with the very important hashtag info for everyone to share their photos with each other on instagram.
- A Basket to hold all the cards/envelopes for the Bride & Groom. A basket decorated simply by wrapping a ribbon around the handle & hanging craft store bought letters -spelling “CARDS”.
- Instead of a cake table- A long table held a small cake, framed wedding pictures from the parents & grandparents wedding days, & a very special cake topper from the bride’s grandparents wedding cake. The table where both families & all the weddings, coming together for all to see. Very special!
Each guest table had:
- Created by the Bride & Groom each table had a photograph of the happy couple -each made to look like a postcard from a place they have traveled. Each table was named for that place which was printed on the card. And the photos were held in stands created with the vintage teacups.
- Vintage Books with Flowers (keeping them low so the guests can see each other from across the tables) in a gold spray painted vase.
- A gorgeous menu at each place setting was created by the bride & groom.
The Wedding was beyond fabulous & better than we ever dreamed it would be. We had so many compliments on all the personal touches that were added to the wedding. It’s what makes an event special~
