- I am using a board that already has some art painted on it. I like the crackled edging so I am just painting the center section & letting the rest be a part of the finished product.
- Tape off the area you don’t want to get the chalk board paint. Remove after it dries a little. If the paint is wet & it leaked under the tape, use a q-tip to wipe off the paint.
- As you brush the chalk board paint on it might seem streaky to you, but they should go away as it dries. I would also recommend using a foam brush.
- Purchased this spinning wood pen/pencil holder at Marshall’s for $6.99
DIY CHALKBOARD PROJECTS -Purchased some inexpensive wood signs (the dollar tree & other discount stores). The Pencil Holder was purchased at Marshall’s for $6.99. I love this holder & have used it before to make studded makeup brush holders. Using a half price coupon for my local craft store, I purchased a jar of Black Chalkboard Paint -after discount was $4.99. Used tape to mask areas, then brushed 2 light coats of the chalk board paint.. simple, easy! And I still have most of the jar left for more projects.
