It’s time for a FrugElegance Style clearance sale home decor tray update!
Did you ever see a great decor piece on a clearance sale but had to walk away from it because it had an initial or a design that ruined it for you? We couldnt walk away from these galvanized metal trays at Kirkland’s. The sale was too good & we had an extra discount with a coupon code. These trays were about $3.00 each!! What a find- but what about the Initials on the trays?? Not a problem…
Best of all, this is so incredibly easy to do. You do NOT need to be a crafty person to do this. You need a container of chalkboard paint & a small inexpensive paintbrush.
Because the area where the initial is, is indented, there’s no need to mask off the area. Freehand will be fine. 2 to 3 light coats are needed to fully cover the design. If you prefer perfectly straight lines, you can mask off the area with blue painter’s tape & peal off when paint is dry.
Chalk markers or stick of chalk to write & rewrite on the chalkboard paint. Chalk also comes in colors too.
These trays are going to a summer favorite! We already know one way we are going to use these and we are going to show you in our next post!
