Outdoor Home Decor- Big or small backyard there’s lots of ways to make your space fabulous. Lots of little touches that make a big statement. Come take a look at some of our favorite features of our backyard where we love to spend lots of time & love to entertain.
This long side yard was empty & nothing going on except a path to the gate. Bocce is a pretty popular game here in California & the really great thing about it- anyone can play! We didn’t build it, but there are so many great online tutorials on how to DIY. And who cares if the court needs to be shorter or narrower, it’s an adjustable kinda game. We LOVE it!
Arbors, Pavilions, & Gazebos can make an area feel more contained- like its a separate room. This pavilion is very open & comfy! The 2 pieces on the ends of the couch were found online on clearance. The cushions don’t match the couch cushions but I like the look. It’s now a larger seating area. The rug & throw pillows were great prices at Costco. It’s a mix-matched area but really comes together well- FrugElegantly! A great time to buy outdoor furniture & save $$ is end of June/beginning July. Stores want to get rid of the inventory to make room for back to school & fall items.
Sand, Seashells & Small Candle- Looks like beautiful outdoor decor during the daytime. Ready to light candle for the evening. Looks beautiful any time!
Making the most out of space & function, these 2 Frontgate coolers not only match the furniture in the pavilion, but they work as great end tables. When we have a backyard party we use them to store backup ice. (I got them when Frontgate was having a special). If still too expensive, we found a very nice alternative to compare- the Crosley Palm Harbor Wicker Cooler.
Also from this Frontgate Garbage Bin has a more decorative look. It’s like a piece of furniture. It is a great high quality durable piece but can be quite a costly investment. One alternative we found online is a Crosley Palm Harbor Outdoor Trash Bin.
Fire pits are awesome! So many options -from built in or portable, a variety of shapes & sizes & they look gorgeous. Love roasting marshmallows with the extendable skewers!
Here are a few easy to do “touches” for your next backyard gathering:
Roll Up Pool / Beach Towels & put in large basket. It looks colorful & ready for guests. Plus, at the end of the day, use the basket to carry towels to laundry room.
Love these self standing chalkboard signs!
Beverage dispensers saves $$ & waste (from bottles or cans). Plus, they looks so beautiful with or without decoration. A simple red twine wrapped around the lid with a ceramic tag is a great label. Water looks & tastes terrific when you add fruit. *Suggestions: use frozen fruit to keep cooler. Favorite frozen fruits are Pineapple, Mango, Strawberries & Blueberries. Favorite fresh fruits are Lemon, Lime & Orange Slices. Lots of dispensers with stands to compare on amazon.
For another decorative way to serve beverages see our Wine Barrel Beverage Tub Post -A great backyard party idea to hold the bottles & cans.
Even the dog’s toys can be in something more decorative. This isn’t for entertaining but it looks so nice, I don’t have to put it away when guests are coming over. This wire piece (not really sure what it is, probably for candles?) was on clearance at Target.
