It’s amazing how easy it is to make these Animal Lid Mason Jars!! Perfect for gift giving, home decor or as we are using these, elegant party decor…
Items Needed:
24k Gold Spray Paint (regular gold spray paint is totally ok too)
First we start with spray painting inexpensive toy animal figures and mason jar lids. We are using the 24k gold spray paint which is a favorite of ours but if your budget is tight, it is totally great to use a regular gold spray paint.
When paint is thoroughly dry, we glue the assorted animal figures onto the mason jar lids.
Since the mason jars are being used for a baby shower, we filled with Gold Hershey Kisses.
Baby shower was a beautiful success!

Hello! I tried making similar ones and I have bought two different kinds of gold spray paint and they both seem to not stick well on the metal and drip or get streaky! They also take FOREVER to somewhat dry! I was using rustoleum which I assumed was a great brand! Any tips??

That is so frustrating. The first things that come to mind is that the spray paint needs to be shaken extremely well (I once bought a store brand spray paint and from the beginning it sprayed terribly and the paint came out like splattered water- I returned it to the store and bought a different brand).
and when spraying, have to spray a light mist but not too close or too far away from item being sprayed. and spray evenly all around. Pause and let dry a bit and then do another coat. If too much paint goes on too fast or too close it will drip. I would also suggest making sure your glass jar is paintable as well as clean & dry. Anything oily or greasy on (from store) might cause the paint to not stick well. It should not take long to dry so that is a sign something is up. In the post we have 2 links to paint we like. Its a link added in the supply list and if you click on it, it shows the brand. We love the 24k paint the best but it does cost a little more than a regular metallic gold spray paint. I sure hope these things help you! 😉
