Check this out! We added wheels & handles to a couple wine crates & wah’la we have Frug-Elegant Organizers! Up Cycling & Recycling Wine Crates with wheels is so easy to do! Perfect for pantry storage & organizing, wheeled storage boxes are great for quick access & not forgetting about things in the back.
We purchased 8 wheels & 2 drawer pull handles which can be found at any local hardware store. Using small & thin screws (to not crack the wood of the wine crate), we simply screwed the wheels & drawer handle in place. Using a black sharpie marker, we colored the screws on the drawer handle so the silver color wouldn’t show.
Wine crates are made with a wood that is thin, so we wouldn’t recommend storing super heavy items- though we are using ours for soda bottles & juice boxes and they are wheeling & maintaining perfectly.
Wine Crates are beautiful & reusing them in different ways are Frug-Elegant! Painting or decorating them can be a wonderful project but for our up cycle we are keeping the wine crates in the simplest forms. A super simple & easy upgrade.
**Several readers have asked where we got our wine crates. Since ours came with the wine in it & never bought a crate, we looked online & found a few options. Amazon carries a selection of wine crate options & Winepine also carries a great selection.
Come see our Pantry Organizing: Coffee Creamer Containers Post. Such a simple & easy up cycle & recycle.

I love, love this idea! I have and crate that opens on the side and this would be a great addition to it.
