Create a Super Easy Rose Heart Sign for Valentine’s Day decor or any time…
The combination of soft silk roses mixed together with shiny tin metal, together give an incredibly elegant look.
We purchased 3 bouquets of artificial roses & 1 Crimped Tin Plaque at our local Michael’s. The crimped plaque is not available online but they do have other pretty plaques that would work well for this project. The artificial roses also dont seem to be on their website but doing a search we found a fabulous option that would eliminate the need to cut the stems off- Silk Rose Flower Heads on Amazon.
We had to cut the stems off the artificial roses. This was easy enough but we had to apply the glue right away so the rose bud wouldn’t come apart.
We start by drawing a guide for our heart, using a piece of chalk. So easy to make any adjustments by just wiping off and redrawing till the heart is the desired shape.
Adding some hot glue to the bottom of the rose, place the rose onto the plaque & hold for a sec for the glue to set. We did start on one side & kept our roses fairly tight together till we filled up the entire heart.
If you don’t own a craft glue gun because you don’t consider yourself “Crafty”- this is the number one tool we use.. They are pretty inexpensive (under $10) & the glue dries so super duper fast. You just might find that you are craftier than you think. LOL, it will bring out the inner crafter you didn’t know you were.
Besides being so incredibly easy to make, this Rose Heart Sign has so much flexibility & possibilities. You can use different size & color roses, space them out differently, use a different style plaque, and of course add some trim or bling. Anything goes… so have fun!
Craft Lightning is all about creating easy & fast craft projects. This took us about 15 minutes to create but if we used the rose heads (without stems), it would take only 5-10 minutes.
We love getting our craft on with all the talented bloggers participating in the Craft Lightning Series.
