Between a drought & keeping on a budget, it’s the perfect time to make some beautiful backyard decor with succulents & some not so obvious items.. come see..

Items Used: 1 package of Twisted Manila Rope, 1 Empty Coffee Can & 3 Empty Tuna Cans
With a little patience & a lot of glue gun sticks, all you need to do is wrap & glue, wrap some more and continue to glue as you go around the can. Keeping the rope pushed as close to the glued section before, it will create a beautiful rope pattern. This look reminds us of the beautiful thick, woven plate chargers that sell for about $10-$19–$25 a piece. Maybe we need to make some to match (because even $10 each charger is way too much for our frug-elegant ways LOL)!
The Rope we used was the store-brand from the local hardware store which is not available online. To give you an example, here is a “Twisted Manila Rope” with the same description and looks like a great option. We LOVE the colors in the twisted rope. It’s a rustic chic that reminds us of Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware, that will work perfectly for our Frug-Elegant outdoor decor. Up cycling cans that would’ve gone into the recycle can.. even better! For 3 small & one larger plant container, it cost us under $10 to make all 4 containers (does not count the plants). Plus, succulents were on sale & are extremely affordable in our area AND, they use less water & are so easy to maintain!

I love this for showcasing succulents. They’re probably my favorites both indoors and out.
RandiG says
We agree. It really wasn’t until our California drought that we took more notice to succulents but they are amazing plants. We are fans for well past the drought. 😉 Thanks so much for writing Lydia

I love this idea! I have often used tin cans for windowsill herbs; I don’t know why I never thought of dressing them up like this! Would you mind if I included one of your watermarked photos with a link directing readers to your blog to get the instructions and more ideas in a blog post I’m writing?
RandiG says
